Ninety minutes at Heard Museum.
Explore the art, culture and history of indigenous peoples of the Americas with a stop at the famous Heard Museum. If you have limited time, stop by the locale’s two signature exhibits. Just to the right of the main entry is “HOME: Native People in the Southwest.” The exhibit is a journey through the vibrant arts and cultures of Native people. Next, head upstairs and view “Remembering our Indian School Days: The Boarding School Experience,” which examines four generations of recollections, memorabilia and writings. The schools were originally established to “civilize” American Indians into mainstream society. Use any extra time to stop by the “Beauty Speaks for Us” exhibit, opening Feb. 11. www.heard.org
