Ari­zona Capi­tol Mu­seum

Ex­plore Ari­zona’s his­tory at this mu­seum (free; do­na­tions wel­come) lo­cated in the 1901 state­house build­ing. Learn about the gov­ern­ment from ter­ri­to­rial times to state­hood to the present through a va­ri­ety of ex­hibits. Head up­stairs to the sec­ond level and view the Rough Rider flag Ari­zo­nans car­ried dur­ing the Span­ish-Amer­i­can War in 1898, as well as the of­fice used by the Ari­zona Gov­er­nor un­til 1974, re­con­structed to ap­pear as it did dur­ing the first year of state­hood. Also on the sec­ond floor: the his­toric House cham­ber. On the first floor, view ar­ti­facts from the USS Ari­zona (sunk dur­ing the in­va­sion of Pearl Har­bor).
