In shock­waves2014, Ja­pan’s through Okada the Mu­se­u­mart worldof Art when sent it an­nounced it had found “Snow at Fuk­a­gawa.” The paint­ing, at­trib­uted to Kita­gawa Uta­maro, had been de­clared lost since the 1940s. Now, Sack­ler’s ex­hi­bi­tion “In­vent­ing Uta­maro” (through July 9) of­fers a rare chance to see the work re­united with “Cherry Blos­soms at Yoshi­wara” (left) and “Moon at Shi­na­gawa,” com­plet­ing a vi­sion the artist be­gan in the 1700s. 1050 In­de­pen­dence Ave. NW, 202.633.1000,
