Faith Kohler, director of 30 Seconds Away: Breaking the Cycle — a documentary about chronically homeless Milwaukeeans — serves as the keynote speaker for Mercy Housing Lakefront’s Live in Hope Reception. Following the address, Kohler joins in a panel discussion exploring solutions to homelessness in Milwaukee. Mayor Tom Barrett provides opening remarks at the event set for Nov. 2, 4–7 p.m. at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, 758 N. Broadway, Milwaukee. of Midwest Environmental Advocates and George Myer of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation for a discussion on “Wisconsin’s changing environmental laws.” The talk takes place at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Shorewood Village Center, 3920 N.
