Before the Badgers take the field: Gameday at UW-Madison

Wisconsin Gazette - - Front Page -

Wisconsin Gazette invited readers to share their Badger gameday traditions and the overwhelming response: tailgate, whether or not you hold a ticket to the home game at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

Travel Wisconsin offers this advice to newbie tailgaters or tailgate crashers: “Stroll down Regent Street before any Badger football game and you’ll find thousands of fans.”

Some residents on the streets around the stadium allow people to park their cars in their yards — for a price.

Other traditions:

Feasting and drinking at these hotspots — Lucky’s 1313 Brew Pub, Jordan’s Big Ten Pub, State Street Brats and Buckingham’s Bar and Grill.

Cheering the team’s arrival at the Camp Randall Arch at Randall and Dayton streets.

Hanging at Badgerville north of the stadium for the food and music, including appearances by the UW Band.

Hanging at Union South for the same — about 2 hours before kickoff.
