The trend started in New York City, where iconic eater­ies like Ju­nior’s and Katz’s Deli put cheese­cake-fla­vored shakes on their menus (some­times topped with whole slabs of cheese­cake!) and now you can find the con­coc­tions at ice-cream shops across the coun­try. Pre­fer to make your own? Cus­tom­ize this easy recipe with your favorite fruit and top­pings:

✤ In blender, whiz to­gether 1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream, 1/2 cup milk, 2/3 cup frozen cheese­cake (about 1/2 slice) and 1/2 cup fresh straw­ber­ries, rasp­ber­ries or blue­ber­ries. Pour into 2 glasses and gar­nish with whipped cream and choco­late syrup or gra­ham cracker crumbs!
