A new study in the Jour­nal of the Amer­i­can Heart As­so­ci­a­tion re­veals that short pe­ri­ods of ex­er­cise—like walk­ing to the bath­room or tak­ing the stairs— add up through­out the day. In fact, re­searchers found that those “mini work­outs” of­fer the same life-length­en­ing, heart-pro­tec­tive perks as ex­er­cis­ing for a long stretch of time!
