Moison wins pair of Freshman titles
WESTERLY — Lincoln thrower Kyle Moison claimed Freshman State titles in the hammer throw (174 feet, 1 inch) and the shot put (44 feet, 6.5 inches) Wednesday afternoon at Westerly High School.
Moison also finished second in the discus with a throw of 117-6 to help the Lions finished in eighth place with 28 points.
Cumberland brought home three medals, while Phil Coppolino taking third in the shot put with a throw of 361. Colby Reilly was tied for fourth in the pole vault with a jump of eight feet and Trey Muraoka took fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-4.
On the track, Burrillville’s Jordan Stansfield was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 18.3 seconds and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in 46.2 seconds. Woonsocket’s Eric Bedoya took sixth in the 800 meters in a time of 2:14.5.
