Dancing Threads children’s sewing class at Cumberland Library
CUMBERLAND — The Children’s Room of the Cumberland Public Library welcomes children ages 5-12 to join and learn practical sewing skills. This four-part series will cover button sewing, mending, patching, and decorative embroidery.
Dates are Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Children’s Program Room: Aug. 5 and Aug. 12. You can register for one session or register for all of them beginning June 26. cumberlandliYou can register online at brary.org

Book Buddies at Cumberland Library
CUMBERLAND — Book Buddies continues this summer at the Cumberland Public Library.
This fun program will pair teen volunteers with children ages 4 to 10 who would like to practice reading to someone or who would like to be read to. It all takes place in the Children’s Program Room with the children’s and teen librarians. After reading time there will be literacy games and activities to explore together.
Book Buddies takes place every Thursday, through Aug. 10, from 2 to 3 p.m. Come for one session, or come for them all.

‘Puppet Pros’ at Cumberland Library
CUMBERLAND — Do you love stories, art and using your imagination? If so, get ready for ‘Puppet Pros,’ a new program for kids in grades K-2 at the Cumberland Public Library.
Once a month, on the second Wednesday of the month, from 6 to 7 p.m., kids can come and listen to themed stories, read-aloud, and then make a different type of puppet to go with the theme.
