Danc­ing Threads chil­dren’s sewing class at Cum­ber­land Li­brary

CUM­BER­LAND — The Chil­dren’s Room of the Cum­ber­land Pub­lic Li­brary wel­comes chil­dren ages 5-12 to join and learn prac­ti­cal sewing skills. This four-part se­ries will cover but­ton sewing, mend­ing, patch­ing, and dec­o­ra­tive em­broi­dery.

Book Bud­dies at Cum­ber­land Li­brary

CUM­BER­LAND — Book Bud­dies con­tin­ues this sum­mer at the Cum­ber­land Pub­lic Li­brary.

This fun pro­gram will pair teen vol­un­teers with chil­dren ages 4 to 10 who would like to prac­tice read­ing to some­one or who would like to be read to. It all takes place in the Chil­dren’s Pro­gram Room with the chil­dren’s and teen li­brar­i­ans. Af­ter read­ing time there will be lit­er­acy games and ac­tiv­i­ties to ex­plore to­gether.

Book Bud­dies takes place ev­ery Thurs­day, through Aug. 10, from 2 to 3 p.m. Come for one ses­sion, or come for them all.

‘Pup­pet Pros’ at Cum­ber­land Li­brary

CUM­BER­LAND — Do you love sto­ries, art and us­ing your imag­i­na­tion? If so, get ready for ‘Pup­pet Pros,’ a new pro­gram for kids in grades K-2 at the Cum­ber­land Pub­lic Li­brary.

Once a month, on the sec­ond Wed­nes­day of the month, from 6 to 7 p.m., kids can come and lis­ten to themed sto­ries, read-aloud, and then make a dif­fer­ent type of pup­pet to go with the theme.
