St. Joseph’s Se­nior Cit­i­zens meet­ing, July 25

Be­fore the meet­ing, ev­ery­one en­joyed their baked scrod din­ner. Pres­i­dent Suzanne Gre­nier opened the meet­ing with a prayer for the sick, and He­len Arse­nault and Yvette Le­clerc for the de­ceased.

Door prize win­ners were Rita Boisvert, Fran Roy, Fran Fur­nell, Jac­que­line Au­clair and Joe Pinc­ince.

Raf­fle ticket win­ners were Irene Frigon, Leo Gre­nier, Jeanne Wall, Mar­i­lyn Beaudette and An­nette Philipovich.

New mem­bers wel­comed to our group in­cluded Rita Pied­mont, Rita Caul­hus, Ed Phillips and Nor­mand Buteau.

The next din­ner, on Tues­day, Aug. 22, at noon in the Good Shep­herd School Au­di­to­rium on Men­don Road, fea­tures lasagna. Tickets are $10 per per­son.

Trips to Fox­woods are sched­uled for Fri­day, Aug. 25, and Fri­day, Sept. 29. For de­tails, call Fran Roy at 401356-1493.

St. Agatha Se­niors meet­ing, July 25

There will be no meet­ing Aug. 2 and 9 be­cause of the Bible Camp. The next meet­ing will be on Aug. 16,with a din­ner of shep­herd's pie.

Tickets will be avail­able for the Sept. 13. meat loaf Ddin­ner.

There will be no meet­ing on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6 be­cause of the parish an­nual flea mar­ket.

The club do­nated $50 to­wards a fund for five-year mem­ber Gia­rina Jordin Hill, who is a can­cer vic­tim.

A fund raiser will be held at the St. Joseph Vet­er­ans Club on Sept. 3, from 6 p.m. un­til mid­night.

Food will be served and a DJ will be avail­able for danc­ing ; there will also be raf­fles. Do­na­tion is $20. Win­ners of the spe­cial bingo games were: Mar­guerite Der­agon, Yvette Ben­netti, Si­mone Remil­lard, Doris Pariseau and Jo­ce­lyn Joyal. Caller was Constance Sei­der.

Pitch win­ners were: Gino Orazi, Janet La­marsh, Martha Cote, Bernard Dubois, Dave Lavallee and Mar­cel Cote.

Serv­ing pas­tries and cof­fee were: Leo and Ger­ard Ro­bidoux, Frances Roy and Mar­guerite Der­agon.

Cel­e­brat­ing birth­days at the club’s July 18 meet­ing were: Ger­ard Ro­bidoux, Glo­ria Belk­nap and Claire Paul­hus.

Os­car and He­len Ni­chols are cel­e­brat­ing their 64th an­niver­sary,

Pres­i­dent An­nette Beaulieu an­nounced that Doris Pariseau will now be in charge of the trips. The first trip un­der her charge will be to Venus De Milo to see the Mil­lion Dol­lar Quar­tet live in con­cert on Sept. 21st. It is a trib­ute to Elvis Pres­ley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash.
