Woonsocket Call - - Seniors - Courtesy of the Woonsocket Historical Society

The Privilege Store building, in this circa 1975 photo, was built in 1865 by Edward Harris and was located midway between his new Privilege Mill on Privilege St. and the downtown Woonsocket area at 373 North Main St. It had the largest business rooms in the city. Its remoteness resulted in its being rarely patronized. The store eventually closed and the building became one of Harris's warehouses. While Precious Blood church was being built, the French Canadians attended mass on the third floor of this building. Today, Warehouse Liquors is located on the first floor.
