Coach Gig Pariseau’s Pawtucket East eleven com­bined an ef­fec­tive ground game with a po­tent pass­ing at­tack to clip Rogers 32-13 in a Class A tilt. “Spike” Levesque, a 155-pound dy­namo with a trusty right arm, kept the Vik­ings pan­icky all af­ter­noon with his ac­cu­rate fling­ing with Ray Mail­hot ex­celling in the catch­ing depart­ment with two third quar­ter aerial touch­downs. The Red­jack­ets’ other TDs were scored on a Billy Ad­di­son 31-yard scam­per in the first pe­riod, Levesque tal­lied in the sec­ond pe­riod and Bob LeFaivre fin­ished off the touch­down pa­rade with a 24-yard romp in the fi­nal stanza.

1962

Miss Claudette LaBonte of Se­gre­gansett and Ed Briggs com­bined for the low gross score with an 84 in a mem­ber-guest mixed Scotch four­some tour­na­ment at the Pawtucket Coun­try Club. Mrs. Rita Fitzger­ald and Don Pasquale carded low net with 85-17-68. Other scores were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Crowther 84-15-69; Miss Mary Good­win and Dom Agos­tini 93-23-70; Mrs. Made­line Savoie and Aime Smith 85-1570, and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Ken­ney 92-20-70.

1972

The of­fen­sive ex­ploits of se­nior QB Ken Knapp (five of 13 for 103 yards) and sopho­more run­ning back Dan Ryfa (155 yards in 27 at­tempts), along with the alert play of the de­fen­sive unit, car­ried Cen­tral Falls to a 20-18 tri­umph over Sc­i­t­u­ate in a Class C en­counter. The War­riors’ touch­downs were tal­lied by Ryfa on a two-yard run, Knapp on a 12-yard dash and a 30-yard aerial from Knapp to Ron Mar­ques. De­fen­sively, Ron Me­nard in­ter­cepted two passes and Jim Pa­que­tte picked off one, Joe Jankowski blocked a punt and tackle Gerry Guil­bert made 10 unas­sisted tack­les.
