Flex op­tions fur­ther am­plify their free­dom; more than 50% of em­ploy­ees ad­justed their sched­ules at some point last year. “Hav­ing more con­trol over the time I take off to re­lax or tend to per­sonal mat­ters, and the flex­i­bil­ity to at­tend my chil­dren’s events, is great,” says mother of six Elaine Martin, a direc­tor in en­ter­prise ap­pli­ca­tion en­gi­neer­ing.
