The games we want the most

The stage of his­tory is be­ing set for bat­tle once more for Soul­cal­ibur VI (p24). We’ve been hand­son with the game to check out how its fight­ing is shap­ing up, and whether the re­turn to the se­ries is worth the wait. We’ve also got loads of info on a brand new char­ac­ter and a few more fa­mil­iar faces who are join­ing the ros­ter. Next we take a look at the mys­te­ri­ous co-op shooter that is GTFO (p28) and its ter­ri­fy­ing bunker full of zom­bie-things and ter­ri­fy­ing grabby-ten­ta­cles with teeth. It doesn’t look like the best of work­ing en­vi­ron­ments, but the whole process seems marginally less dan­ger­ous than work­ing at

OXM. The zom­bies look far less deadly than Steve and War­ren be­fore they’ve had their mid-morn­ing cof­fees. Else­where we get up close and per­sonal with the may­hem in Far Cry 5 (p30) to see what we’ve got to look for­ward to in its im­mi­nent re­lease. From dis­patch­ing dan­ger­ous cultists to tak­ing part in a tes­ti­cle fes­ti­val, it looks set to cater to ev­ery­one’s tastes, no mat­ter how bizarre they may be. Fi­nally, it’s time to start over with a new life in a far­away land, where you can build up your own busi­ness, and maybe ro­mance some lo­cals in My Time At Por­tia (p36). Can it re­place the Stardew Val­ley- shaped nook in our hearts? We’ve spent a few hours with the game’s craft­ing and ex­plor­ing to find out.
