This month, fight in style, get freaked out by Disney, and see a dead game return to life
A new fighter has stepped into the arena in the shape of the plucky young Talim with a pair of elbow blades. She previously appeared in SCII, III, and IV, so is back for this part of the story. She’s an incredibly quick fighter, with high bounds to help her leap over opponents to get behind them, and has an affinity for wind-based attacks, and no, that doesn’t mean butt-gas.
Dead Is land 2
Like one of its zombies, this game is back from the dead thanks to a spark of interest after a free-to-play mobile game was given a surprise release. Everyone had thought that this game was out of the picture for good, but the Dead Island Twitter account confirmed that it is still actually in development. We won’t see any details for quite some time, though.
A semi-realistic free-to-play shooter from the studio behind Crysis set in the near future. It features several PVP modes including an 8v8 battle royale mode that has very quick rounds for you to blast through. There’s also a range of special operations that see you team up with others to take on several challenging rounds if teamplay is more your thing.
Tales Of Vesperia
This classic JRPG returns with an HD makeover and extra content later this year. With its anime stylings and hearty story, this was a hit on Xbox 360, so a return ten years later is very welcome, as we haven’t seen many games in the genre come to Xbox One. It’s a masterwork, so we’re confident it won’t have aged badly by the time it releases towards the end of 2018.
Kingdom Hearts III
We thought seeing Sora in Pixar worlds felt uncanny, but now Kingdom Hearts III has revealed it’s returning to the Pirates Of The
Carribbean world, except now it’s looking frighteningly realistic. Seeing ‘real’ Donald and Goofy is making us feel a little off, but seeing Jack Sparrow and co looking almost as good as they do in the real-life films has us excited for a pirate’s life.
A few adorable new details have sneaked out of this farming life-sim game, including the starting house on your farm. It’s definitely a fixer-upper, but there are loads of furniture options and many ways to upgrade, so you’ll be living like a monster queen in no time at all. Badgetown has also been expanded to include a residential area; hopefully we can make them our friends.
