End Of The Road
FIFA 19 brings to a close the three-year tale of Alex Hunter, a fictional prospect introduced in FIFA 17. This year’s story mode, The Journey: Champions, adds Hunter’s sister Kim and pal Danny Williams as playable characters, and centres upon a certain humungous club license. Clocking in at around 15 hours it lags here and there – training sessions feel like padding – but the narrative beats come full circle neatly, and unconventional elements, such as a kickabout in a hotel corridor, delight. Mocked initially, it will be much missed next year.
