A tribute to the ‘Old Girls’

Yachts International - - Engage - To Inquire about subscriptions

Your timing was excellent. Part of my Veterans Day was spent reading, and then re-reading, “Ruse on the Chesapeake” [November/December issue]. It took me back many years to a much simpler world, but one that was in some ways more complicated. Transferring the President of the United States from Washington, D.C., to Tehran under a cloak of secrecy would be much simpler today and done in a few hours, but the story would not have been half as good. How nice it is to see your magazine pay tribute in such a fitting way to our proud maritime heritage and reminding us of the debt we owe to some of those great “old girls” of the past.

—D. George

Iwould like to commend you on the fresh content of your magazine. It has gone beyond the trophy showplace of the past to actually address issues that interest most, if not all, yachtsmen. It presents a good mix of stories and commentary. Keep up the great work!
