Land, Sea and air at a Fraction of the cost

-

AVYachts has entered the fractional yacht ownership market. The company announced in February that it will offer members shared ownership in at yacht at one-fifth the cost of a new vessel. Membership includes VIP concierge services to arrange private jet yacht experiences and excursions at discounted rates.

“AVYachts offers the ultimate yacht experience to busy clients in a seamless, stress-free and convenient package,” says CEO Herb Postma, who spent 17 years as founder and CEO of Westship Yachts before focusing on a marine consulting business. “From door-to-yacht private jet transportation to experience on the finest yachts worldwide, AVYachts represents the next generation of complete luxury lifestyle enjoyment in a cost-effective package.”

Members receive the concierge services along with yacht management and maintenance, according to the company. The AVYachts Paradise Getaway Card allows bookings by the day (with a three-day minimum) or by the week aboard a crewed yacht. The company is offering 20 percent shares in a recently refit 2012 Westport 112 for the purchase price of $1,780,000, plus annual fees of $260,000. (Financing is available.) Owners can be aboard six weeks a year, will have the yacht equipped with their personal effects and can exchange weeks with other members of similar yachts worldwide.

In addition to Postma, the management team includes maritime and aviation lawyer Michael Moore and former Derecktor Shipyards and Fleet Miami Marketing Director Kathy Kennedy, who serves as COO. avyachts.com
