Do you ask your­self life’s big ques­tions—and can you ad­mit you may not have all the an­swers? Turns out a will­ing­ness to en­ter­tain your doubts and un­cer­tain­ties may make you more re­silient. A re­cent Case West­ern Re­serve Univer­sity study found that peo­ple who ac­cepted their in­ner spir­i­tual con­flicts were less de­pressed than those who sup­pressed their doubts. Be­ing will­ing to ad­dress trou­bling, con­flict­ing be­liefs in­di­cated a richer, more nu­anced abil­ity to ex­pe­ri­ence and re­spond to the world.
