Veterans Day Parade Entries
American legion Post 19 is seeking entries for the November 12th Veterans Day Parade in Yuma.
Floats, automobiles, marching units, color guards, horseback riders and motorcycles may be entered. The staging area will be between the Yuma Mesa Shopping Center/Staples to 3th Ave. and 17th St. The parade will start promptly at 9am. Then the parade will travel south down 4th Avenue from 17th street and go east on 25th street to the American Legion at 2575 S. Virginia Dr.
The theme this year is “Honoring The Global War On Terror”. If you are a veteran or an ac ve duty member from this era, we would love to have you be on our float and/or march in the parade. Please contact Jason Kodz at the number listed below.
A er the parade there will be a barbecue and entertainment from noon to 5 p.m. The public is invited to the barbecue. Price of the barbecue is $8.00 for adults $5.00 for children 12 and under.
The day before the Parade, Sunday November 11th, the public is invited to the Eleventh Hour Ceremony, which signifies the end of World War I. It will take place at 11 a.m. by the flag pole in the front of American Legion Post 19.
A parade entry form appears in today’s paper. It can be clipped out and mailed or brought to the post at 2575 S. Virginia Dr. The deadline for turning in the entries is October 26th. Or call 344-3441 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
