South­ern Ari­zona get­ting wildlife con­ser­va­tion site

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo and the Ari­zona Cen­ter for Na­ture Con­ser­va­tion have ac­quired land to cre­ate a wildlife con­ser­va­tion cen­ter.

KJZZ-FM re­ports the cen­ter will be in Sahuarita, Ari­zona, and be home to many dif­fer­ent threat­ened and en­dan­gered species, such as gazelles, chee­tahs, and Mex­i­can grey wolves.

There is no of­fi­cial start date to break ground on the more than 1.5 square miles of land in Pima County, but ten­ta­tive plans in­clude ed­u­ca­tional tours through the cen­ter.
