2 hurt in rear-end crash on Ave. B, County 21st St.
Two people were injured and two vehicles were badly damaged in a rear-end collision Wednesday.
According to a press release, the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department was called to a motor vehicle collision with injuries at 4:25 p.m. at South Avenue B and County 21st Street. The crew was assisted by San Luis Fire Department Paramedics.
A white GMC Trailblazer was traveling northbound when it was reportedly hit by a red Chevrolet Suburban. The release stated that the driver of the red Suburban sustained a bloody nose when his face struck a deployed airbag. The driver of the Trailblazer was complaining of a stiff neck and pain to his right arm.
Somerton/Cocopah paramedics placed the driver of the Trailblazer in full cervical spine precautions. He was transported to YRMC.
The driver of the red Suburban was examined and treated by the San Luis Fire Department Paramedics but refused transportation.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
