There Is Much to Do
In the lower house of parliament, a press conference was conducted by the Commission for the coordination of work to further improve the provision of medical services to the population and provision of medicines, and to promote the effective application of legislation in this area.
The deputies told the media representatives about the activities of this commission. In particular, to date, it has carried out a complete inventory and optimization of rural medical stations.
With the participation of parliamentarians, sessions of local Kengashes (Councils) of People's Deputies were taken place, during which the heads of the relevant health institutions informed about their activities. This practice allowed the formation of a system for reporting medical facilities to the people.
On the basis of the family polyclinic No. 47 of the Shaykhantohur district of Tashkent, the work was carried out to organize exemplary activity of medical institutions, including their material and technical re-equipment, outfitting with modern computer equipment with the necessary software. In addition, on the instructions of the head of state, the state of medical services for the population in the Jizzakh and Namangan regions was studied.
People's deputies stressed that the commission paid special attention to booting the medical awareness of citizens by informing about the work of health facilities. So, the deputies of the Legislative Chamber explained them the order of the activities of medical institutions in the course of meetings with residents of various regions.
At the same time, there is much to be done to eliminate omissions and shortcomings in the sphere of medical services for the population. So far, in the appeals of citizens entering the virtual reception of the President of Uzbekistan and the people's reception rooms, problems in the sphere of public health are raising. The most urgent of them is the shortage of qualified medical personnel. The public control over the activities of health care institutions is not fully ensured. Thus, in the Bulakbashi district of the Andijan region, Yangiarik district of the Khorezm region, Kyzyryk district of the Surkhandarya region, as well as in a number of other regions of the country, there are shortcomings in the information provided by the heads of the relevant medical institutions about their activities to self-governing bodies of citizens, local Kengashes of People's Deputies.
The commission members noted that much more needs to be done in the context of enhancing the material and technical equipment of health facilities, providing medicines, boosting the medical culture of the population, and further improving the legal framework in this area.
After the meeting of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with representatives of political parties and parliament taken place on July 12 this year, the activities of this commission were radically revised. Taking into account the tasks identified by the head of state, its composition was updated. Also, the new composition of the territorial working groups was approved. In addition, a new version of the regulation on the commission, as well as its work plan for AugustDecember 2017, were confirmed.
At the same time, special significance is attached the activation of works on studying the realization of tasks specified in decrees, resolutions and orders of the President of the Republic aimed at cardinal improvement of medical services for the population.
