The Kurash Day
The resolution of the President of Uzbekistan envisages the development and approval of the program of comprehensive measures for the further development of the national sport - wrestling kurash.
In accordance with the program, in order to popularize this national struggle and ensure the quality leisure of youth in the regional centers and the city of Nukus, centers for the national form of wrestling kurash will be established, and in each district (city) - modern sports clubs and sections.
It also provides for the organization and holding of national and international competitions and kurash tournaments on an ongoing basis, the introduction of an automated database of participants in competitions and tournaments for this sport, an increase in quotas for admission to higher and secondary special, professional educational institutions in the direction of Kurash equipment ‘yakhtak’ and mats ‘gilam’, meeting world standards, developing a media plan to popularize it.
These measures are aimed at the development and popularization of kurash among the population, especially youth, the creation of a domestic brand for the manufacture of sports equipment and inventory, the increase in the effectiveness of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan.
It will be included in the programs of sports games Umid Nihollari, Barkamol Avlod and the Universiade.
In accordance with the resolution, on September 6, the day of the national sport of Kurash was established, which is symbolically connected with the creation of the International Kurash Association.
A number of privileges are envisaged that will significantly strengthen the material and technical base of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, increase the social protection of athletes and coaches for kurash.
In particular, the taxable profits of legal entities are reduced by the amount of contributions, funds in the form of sponsorship and charitable assistance directed to finance the activities of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, but not more than 10% of taxable profits.
Revenues in the form of cash prizes and valuable prizes, given by the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan to athletes and coaches, are exempt from the payment of personal income tax.
Exempt from payment of all types of taxes and mandatory contributions to state trust funds, except for the offbudget Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for a period of 5 years for the main activity of the enterprise, specializing in the production of sports equipment ‘yakhtak’ and (or) mats ‘gilam’ with the purpose of providing athletes with affordable and high-quality equipment and inventory.
The order of preferential admission to the higher educational institutions of winners of Asian games, championships of Asia and the world, and also championships of Uzbekistan on kurash is introduced.
With a view to attracting the general public, especially young people, the creation of a non-governmental non-profit organization - the Kurash National Sports Center under the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan - is envisaged for this sport.
