Scientists to Receive New Devices
In the next four years, more than $32.2 million will be allocated for equipping scientific institutions. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on measures to further strengthening the infrastructure of scientific research institutions and the development of innovative activities.
According to the document, the program of complex measures for 2017-2021 is planned to implement more than 40 events in six areas of development of the sphere of science and innovation.
In particular, it is planned to carry out repairing and restoration works in more than 30 and to equip 40 research institutions with modern laboratories, instruments and equipment. In this case, the costs for providing scientific laboratories with expendable materials and reagents are separately provided.
In total, over 116 billion sums will be allocated for reconstruction and overhaul of buildings and structures of research institutions in 2018-2021, and over $32.2 million will be allocated for equipping and providing the necessary components, consumables and reagents.
Measures have been provided for practical implementation of the procedure for allocating target quotas for doctoral studies, as well as for increasing the academic mobility of scientific personnel and strengthening mechanisms for supporting their scientific achievements to involve young people in the field of research activities.
It is also planned to implement measures to further deepen the integration of scientific activity and the educational process, to actively involve scientists and specialists of research institutions in the educational process of universities, to introduce the procedure for preliminary defense of master's dissertations in institutions of practice.
Another important block of practical measures is aimed to raising the level of research conducted by the scientific institutions of the country, to expanding their access to the world's scientific information databases. Measures have been provided for introduction a mechanism of collective use of equipment by research institutes and universities to effectively use the potential of both existing and newly created scientific laboratories of research institutions.
