WADA and NOC of Uzbek­istan have agreed to open a Na­tional Anti-Dop­ing Agency.

The World Anti-Dop­ing Agency (WADA) and the Na­tional Olympic Com­mit­tee of Uzbek­istan reached an agree­ment on the open­ing of the Na­tional Anti-Dop­ing Agency in our coun­try.

It was achieved dur­ing the meet­ing of the OIC Sec­re­tary Gen­eral Oy­bek Kasi­mov and Deputy Direc­tor Gen­eral of WADA Rob Kohler in Czech Prague.

WADA ini­ti­ated the cre­ation of an in­de­pen­dent na­tional anti-dop­ing or­ga­ni­za­tion in Uzbek­istan, tak­ing into ac­count the im­prove­ment of the re­sults of Uzbek ath­letes in the in­ter­na­tional arena in re­cent years. The Na­tional Olympic Com­mit­tee sup­ported this ini­tia­tive.

The im­ple­men­ta­tion of the anti-dop­ing pro­gram in sports and the im­ple­men­ta­tion of WADA rules and re­quire­ments is stated in the Pres­i­dent's De­cree of 9 March “On the prepa­ra­tion of ath­letes of Uzbek­istan to the XXXII Sum­mer Olympics and XVI Par­a­lympics in 2020 in Tokyo (Ja­pan)”.
