Kandym Gas Processing Plant Received the First Gas
LUKOIL has commissioned the first line of the Kandym gas processing plant, designed to process more than 4 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
Work has also been completed on the construction of shift camp, the preplant zone, the highway system, the external power supply and water supply facilities, the collection system and the pipeline of export gas.
At the same time, work is underway to build the second line of the Kandym gas processing plant, which is to be completed in July 2018. At present, more than 5,500 workers, engineers and more than 1,000 units of construction equipment are involved in the construction of this complex.
The plant is designed to process hydrogen sulfide-containing natural gas with a capacity of 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Kandym group of fields located in the Bukhara region to produce purified natural gas in the amount of 7.9 billion cubic meters, 134.4 thousand tons of stable gas condensate, as well as 212.9 thousand tons of lumpy and granulated sulfur. As a result of this project, 2125 new jobs will be created.
The Russian company LUKOIL operates in Uzbekistan on the terms of Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) since 2004, the authorized body on which is the Ministry of Economy of the Republic.
In November 2007, the company commissioned the Khauzak-Shady field with a production capacity of 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas per year, in May 2015 the Kuvachi-Alat and Severnoye Shady field with a capacity of 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year, in July 2017 - the field of the Gissar Group with a capacity of 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
In 2018, 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas is planned to be extracted from all fields. In total, from the beginning of the two PSAs, cumulative production amounted to 45 billion cubic meters of gas. The implementation of projects in Uzbekistan by Lukoil invested $ 6.5 billion.
