Kandym Gas Pro­cess­ing Plant Re­ceived the First Gas

LUKOIL has com­mis­sioned the first line of the Kandym gas pro­cess­ing plant, de­signed to process more than 4 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas per year.

Work has also been com­pleted on the con­struc­tion of shift camp, the pre­plant zone, the high­way sys­tem, the ex­ter­nal power sup­ply and wa­ter sup­ply fa­cil­i­ties, the col­lec­tion sys­tem and the pipe­line of ex­port gas.

At the same time, work is un­der­way to build the sec­ond line of the Kandym gas pro­cess­ing plant, which is to be com­pleted in July 2018. At present, more than 5,500 work­ers, en­gi­neers and more than 1,000 units of con­struc­tion equipment are in­volved in the con­struc­tion of this com­plex.

The plant is de­signed to process hy­dro­gen sul­fide-con­tain­ing nat­u­ral gas with a ca­pac­ity of 8.1 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas per year from the Kandym group of fields lo­cated in the Bukhara re­gion to pro­duce pu­ri­fied nat­u­ral gas in the amount of 7.9 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters, 134.4 thou­sand tons of sta­ble gas con­den­sate, as well as 212.9 thou­sand tons of lumpy and gran­u­lated sul­fur. As a re­sult of this project, 2125 new jobs will be cre­ated.

The Rus­sian com­pany LUKOIL op­er­ates in Uzbek­istan on the terms of Pro­duc­tion Shar­ing Agree­ment (PSA) since 2004, the au­tho­rized body on which is the Min­istry of Econ­omy of the Repub­lic.

In Novem­ber 2007, the com­pany com­mis­sioned the Khauzak-Shady field with a pro­duc­tion ca­pac­ity of 3.4 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas per year, in May 2015 the Ku­vachi-Alat and Sev­er­noye Shady field with a ca­pac­ity of 2.1 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas per year, in July 2017 - the field of the Gis­sar Group with a ca­pac­ity of 5 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas per year.

In 2018, 14.7 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas is planned to be ex­tracted from all fields. In to­tal, from the be­gin­ning of the two PSAs, cu­mu­la­tive pro­duc­tion amounted to 45 bil­lion cu­bic me­ters of gas. The im­ple­men­ta­tion of projects in Uzbek­istan by Lukoil in­vested $ 6.5 bil­lion.
