Introduction of Scientific and Technological Progress
Identification of the person by the cornea of the eye, automation of electronic document management, creation of new technologies for detection of gas deposits. Those are just some of the areas that young scientists of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of the Samarkand State University are successfully working on.
The introduction of projects developed by young scientists into the practice is the foundation for a significant breakthrough to a new, higher stage of scientific and technological progress. Thanks to the fresh look and audacity of the pioneers, debutantsresearchers confidently look beyond the scientific horizons, accumulating and introducing into the daily life new promising ideas. Therefore, young scientists are often called guests from the future.
Assistant of the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Comprehensive Programming of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of the Samarqand State University Ozod Yusupov developed and implemented a program that allowed to fully automate the workflow of the monitoring department of the native alma mater.
- Development provides automatic electronic dispatch of documents arriving to the monitoring department to relevant users, - says its author. - In turn, the addressees on the same channel transmit reports on the implementation of the received materials. A distinctive feature is that it monitors the deadlines for the completion of tasks and assignments.
If this program has already been implemented and operating in the university, the project of Yusupov to identify the person on the cornea of the eye is in the active development phase.
“The issue of personalization of the person is one of the main requirements for ensuring security, access of personnel from enterprises and organizations to databases,” Yusupov says. “Previously, it was believed that the identity of a person can be identified accurately from fingerprints. However, modern data indicates that such parameters among different people, although extremely rare, but may coincide. Therefore, more advanced technologies are being developed, including those based on fixing the parameters of the cornea of the eye. I have been already working on the creation of such a highly effective program for two years, and there have been some results. I plan to defend my doctoral dissertation on this topic in the near future.”
“The economic prosperity of any state is closely connected with the level of integration of science and production, implementation of the results of human intellectual activity” says Akmal Akhatov, the dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics of the Samarqand State University. “Young scientists who are in search of new solutions to the urgent problems of our time also clearly see such prospects. Many of their developments have already been introduced into practice and occupied a worthy place in the overall mechanism of functioning of our university. For example, an electronic journal has been introduced into the educational process to keep automatically records of student attendance and to monitor of the results of rating control, as well as the activities of the Chancellery and Personnel Department have been automated.”
Young researchers Jamol Mahmudov and Bekzod Fayziyev, under the guidance of Professor Bakhtiyor Khujayarov, took an active part in the development of methods for discovering natural gas fields in the framework of a fundamental grant from the Agency for Science and Technology of the Republic. This year, this development has received a patent of the Agency for Intellectual Property.
Young scientists Sunnatillo Kholmonov and Zohid Bekmurodov are also among promising researches for faculty. It should be noted that they, under the guidance of Professor Israil Jumanov, have been working on the creation of a software product aimed at improving the mechanisms for increasing the reliability of the transmission and processing of textual, graphic and production and technological information. The results of the research will be useful for many sectors of the economy.
