Election Campaigning in Full Swing
On December 24 this year, elections are scheduled for district Kengashes (Councils) of People’s Deputies of the city of Tashkent.
This election campaigning began on September 23 this year. This political process is gradually implemented on the basis of the Program of Measures for Conducting Elections to the District Kengashes of People’s Deputies of the Capital, approved by a resolution of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the chairman of the Tashkent city election commission for holding elections to the district Kengashes of People’s Deputies Hamid Karimov, the election campaign is in full swing. According to the program, the relevant district election commissions established in Tashkent held their meetings on registration of candidates for deputies until November 19. The announcement of registration in the coming days will be announced in the local press.
Pre-election campaigning of candidates for deputies begins with the day of their registration. Based on the requirements of the electoral law, women make up more than 30% of the total number of nominated candidates for deputies from political parties.
