French Vans to Come out Sooner

The Uzbek-French au­to­mo­bile plant, Uzbek­istan Peu­geot Citroёn Au­to­mo­tive, will re­lease its first pro­duce on De­cem­ber 10, 2018, four months ahead of the orig­i­nal dead­line.

Pres­i­dent of Uzbek­istan Shavkat Mirziy­oyev in­structed to ac­cel­er­ate the im­ple­men­ta­tion of this strate­gic project and launch the plant on De­cem­ber 10, 2018. Ini­tially, it was planned that the ca­pac­i­ties will be put into op­er­a­tion in the first quar­ter of 2019 year.

The plant will pro­duce two mod­els Peu­geot Boxer and Peu­geot Expert. The vol­ume of pro­duc­tion of the first model will be 3 thou­sand cars per year, the sec­ond - 13 thou­sand. The prod­uct line has also been thor­oughly de­vel­oped. For the Peu­geot Boxer, there are 10-12 vari­ants of mod­i­fi­ca­tions, Peu­geot Expert - 7.

In par­tic­u­lar, based on the Peu­geot Boxer, it is planned to launch the pro­duc­tion of a minibus for 16-18 seats, am­bu­lances and re­frig­er­a­tors, and Peu­geot Expert - mini­van for 9-12 seats, van, pickup and other mod­i­fi­ca­tions. The new cars will be eco­nom­i­cal. The av­er­age fuel con­sump­tion will be 7-8 liters per 100 km.

The plant will cre­ate 600 new jobs, and an­nual pro­duc­tion will ex­ceed 170 mil­lion eu­ros. At the same time, about 50% of pro­duc­tion is planned to be ex­ported to Rus­sia and other CIS coun­tries, as well as Iran and France. In gen­eral, ac­cord­ing to ex­perts fore­casts, the an­nual vol­ume of fin­ished goods ex­ported abroad will amount to ap­prox­i­mately 55 mil­lion eu­ros, and spare parts - 15 mil­lion eu­ros.

It should be re­minded that the plant will be lo­cated in the «Jiz­zakh» free eco­nomic zone. The de­sign of the fa­cil­ity is car­ried out jointly with the ex­pe­ri­enced en­gi­neers of the French com­pany in ac­cor­dance with the stan­dards and re­quire­ments of the Peu­geot Citroёn.

The en­ter­prise is planned to equip with mod­ern tech­no­log­i­cal lines which will al­low to pro­vide for the au­to­mated pro­duc­tion process and qual­ity con­trol ac­cord­ing to the high­est Euro­pean stan­dards. The con­struc­tion is car­ried out by the lo­cal gen­eral con­trac­tor un­der the su­per­vi­sion of the French part­ners. In the plans The joint ven­ture is to en­sure a level of lo­cal­iza­tion of at least 50% from the first year of pro­duc­tion.
