Jewelry Industry Association, Uzbekzargarsanoati, is set to be established in Uzbekistan soon.
Among the main tasks of the new organization is the preservation and further development of centuriesold traditions of jewelry art in various regions of Uzbekistan, coordinating the implementation of measures for the development of the industry, and the consistent implementation of a single scientific, technical, technological, investment and export policy.
In addition, it will work on increasing the volume of production and improving the quality of products, developing the most sought-after areas and technologies for its design, ensuring certification and standardization, and introducing modern quality management methods.
Another important area is attracting foreign investments, conducting marketing research to expand sales markets, organizing a training system for training personnel for the jewelry industry.
The new association will be part of the Set for Economic Development, Structural Transformation, Investment, Reforming the Banking and Financial Systems, Coordinating the Activities of Free Economic and Small Industrial Zones of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed Uzbekzargarsanoati to develop and submit to the government for approval a targeted program to modernize existing and create new facilities in the jewelry industry for 2018-2020 by mid-February next year.
In addition, the head of state released the new structure before January 1, 2021, from customs payments for imported equipment, raw materials, materials, components and products not produced in the country.
It should be reminded that in Uzbekistan from January 1, 2018, will be canceled excise tax on jewelry, sold at retail.
Manufacturers of jewelry were also exempted from excise tax and value added tax when selling products, including for export, to January 1, 2020. At the same time, all released funds must be sent to the reconstruction and modernization of production, replenishment of current assets.
