At the Zenith of IT Development
Uzbekistan is named the most dynamically developing country in the field of ICT, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The other day ITU published its new report «Measuring the Information Society». It reflects the results of the latest ICT development index (IDI), the leading global index in this field, which establishes the level of technology development in more than 190 countries.
Uzbekistan climbed 8 positions in the ICT development index and now ranks 95th in the world. It should be noted that in last year's index, our country was ranked 110th, but as a result of the revision of data from the ITU moved to 103rd place. As a result, it is recognized as the most dynamically developing country in the field of ICT.
It should be reminded that today in Uzbekistan, ICT accounts for only about 2% of GDP. At the same time, the republic has all the necessary resources and opportunities for the accelerated development of this sector, as well as the professional human potential that is being prepared by foreign universities operating in Tashkent.
Only in the past year in the country launched several dozens of innovative projects that can bring it to a new level. So, for example, the so-called Uzbek Silicon Valley - the innovative center for support of development and introduction of information technologies Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center - has started its work.
In addition, a single integrator of public systems has been created, which is responsible for ensuring the development, implementation and integration of information systems, resources and software products in the Electronic Government system, as well as IT in various sectors of the economy.
