Uzbek En­voy to Ger­many Starts Mis­sion

In Ber­lin, the newly ap­pointed Am­bas­sador Ex­tra­or­di­nary and Plenipo­ten­tiary of the Repub­lic of Uzbek­istan to the Fed­eral Repub­lic of Ger­many, Nabi­jon Kasi­mov, pre­sented his cre­den­tials to the Fed­eral Pres­i­dent of Ger­many Frank-Wal­ter Stein­meier ear­lier this week.

Dur­ing the con­ver­sa­tion that fol­lowed the cer­e­mony, is­sues of bi­lat­eral re­la­tions were dis­cussed. The Fed­eral Pres­i­dent noted that the Fed­eral Repub­lic of Ger­many views Uzbek­istan as an im­por­tant part­ner in Cen­tral Asia and is in­ter­ested in fur­ther strength­en­ing co­op­er­a­tion on a wide range of is­sues. The pos­i­tive na­ture of friendly re­la­tions be­tween the two coun­tries was noted, and the pres­ence of great po­ten­tial for build­ing mu­tu­ally ben­e­fi­cial co­op­er­a­tion was em­pha­sized.
