Uzbekistan, S. Korea Boost Education Bonds
In preparation for the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea, agreements were reached to expand cooperation in joint training of personnel, the opening of campuses and branches of Korean universities.
The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education reached agreements to expand cooperation in joint training of personnel, the opening of campuses and branches of the University of Ajou and Pohang University of Science and Technology in Uzbekistan.
Currently, Uzbek universities support cooperation with more than 45 universities and scientific organizations of the Republic of Korea.
It envisages the development of ties in various fields of educational and scientific activity, the exchange of faculty and students, as well as interaction in the organization of joint conferences and scientific research.
Only in the first half of 2017, within the framework of direct interuniversity cooperation, more than 70 people from among the faculty and administration of Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions participated in conferences and symposiums at the universities of the Republic of Korea.
During the same period, Uzbek universities met with more than 30 representatives of Korean universities, including Inha, Keimyung, Shingu, Joongbu, Sangji, Pusan National University, Korea Development Institute and others.
In addition, more than 50 university students in Uzbekistan were sent for internships or continue their education in the magistracy and doctoral studies of Korean universities.
