A cen­ter of track and field athletics, which has no ana­logues in Cen­tral Asia, has been built in Tashkent. With the be­gin­ning of his work, ex­perts at­tribute the strength­en­ing of the po­si­tions of our ath­letes in the in­ter­na­tional arena.

At the open­ing cer­e­mony of the cen­ter, Chair­man of the State Com­mit­tee of the Repub­lic of Uzbek­istan for Phys­i­cal Cul­ture and Sports Rus­tam Kur­bonov and oth­ers noted that as a re­sult of the spe­cial at­ten­tion given in recent years to the fur­ther pop­u­lar­iza­tion of Olympic sports, in par­tic­u­lar track and field athletics, in our coun­try, the cre­ation of even wider con­di­tions for those en­gaged in this sport, mod­ern sports fa­cil­i­ties are be­ing built and put into oper­a­tion in all re­gions of Uzbek­istan.

At present, hun­dreds of sports fa­cil­i­ties have been built in our coun­try, where young peo­ple reg­u­larly prac­tice their fa­vorite sports.

One of such sports com­plexes was the Cen­ter for Athletics, com­mis­sioned in Tashkent, where all ameni­ties were cre­ated.

“The com­plex has all the nec­es­sary con­di­tions for train­ing,” said Deputy Chair­man of the Athletics Fed­er­a­tion of Uzbek­istan B.Mirtemirov. “We hope ath­letes who will hone their skills here will achieve high re­sults at the Asian and Olympic Games, world and con­ti­nen­tal cham­pi­onships.”

In the Athletics Cen­ter, which is the only such fa­cil­ity in Cen­tral Asia and fully meet­ing in­ter­na­tional standards, there are 9 race­ways, 4 sec­tors for long jumps, two sec­tors for high jump and pole vault­ing, a push­ing pad for the nu­cleus, a throw­ing disk, ham­mer and spear, run­ning track. Also in the build­ing of the cen­ter there is a hos­tel for 72 peo­ple, a gym, a swim­ming pool, chang­ing rooms, med­i­cal of­fices equipped with mod­ern equip­ment and equip­ment.
