Me­dia Cen­ter for Stu­dents

A train­ing me­dia cen­ter will be cre­ated at the Tashkent Univer­sity of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies. State Com­mit­tee of the Repub­lic of Uzbek­istan for in­vest­ment held a cer­e­mony of sign­ing ex­change notes with the Ja­panese Em­bassy to our coun­try on the project “Cre­ation of an ed­u­ca­tional me­dia cen­ter of the Tashkent Univer­sity of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies”.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of min­istries and de­part­ments, the em­bassy of Ja­pan and the Ja­pan In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion Agency (JICA) in Uzbek­istan, and me­dia work­ers took part at the event. The par­tic­i­pants of the event noted that the co­op­er­a­tion of Uzbek­istan and Ja­pan based on mu­tual trust is con­sis­tently de­vel­op­ing in all di­rec­tions.

The de­vel­op­ment of co­op­er­a­tion in the spheres of trade, econ­omy, tourism, ed­u­ca­tion, ecol­ogy and cul­ture play an im­por­tant role in the re­la­tions be­tween two coun­tries. Ja­pan is ac­tively pro­mot­ing wide­spread in­tro­duc­tion of in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy for all ar­eas of our so­ci­ety, im­ple­men­ta­tion of pro­grams and projects to im­prove the ef­fec­tive­ness of in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy.

The project on “Cre­ation of the ed­u­ca­tional me­dia cen­ter of the Tashkent Univer­sity of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies” within the frame­work of the grant agree­ment signed be­tween the Min­istry for the De­vel­op­ment of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions of the Repub­lic of Uzbek­istan and the rep­re­sen­ta­tion of the Ja­pan In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion Agency is among them.

-Within the frame­work of the longterm co­op­er­a­tion with Uzbek­istan, we ac­tively en­gage in im­ple­ment­ing projects in the field of in­forma­ti­za­tion of the so­ci­ety and telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions,- said Kat­su­toshi Fusimi, the head of the rep­re­sen­ta­tion of the Ja­pan In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion Agency in our coun­try.

- The fel­low­ship granted to the Muham­mad al-Khorezmi Tashkent Univer­sity of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies will al­low to in­ten­sify the work on train­ing and re­train­ing of qual­i­fied per­son­nel in the field of com­mu­ni­ca­tion tech­nolo­gies.

Funds worth 1.5 mil­lion US dol­lars will be di­rected to the or­ga­ni­za­tion of a re­search and train­ing lab­o­ra­tory at the univer­sity. The train­ing cen­ter will be equipped with com­puter tech­nolo­gies, mul­ti­me­dia and spe­cial equip­ment, tak­ing into ac­count the cur­rent trends in the de­vel­op­ment of ICT in tele­vi­sion and ra­dio broad­cast­ing.

Im­ple­men­ta­tion of the project will im­prove qual­ity of teach­ing in the main spe­cial and prac­ti­cal dis­ci­plines, pro­fes­sional train­ing of spe­cial­ists, stu­dents in the ar­eas of cinema op­er­a­tor and “Spe­cial light­ing tech­nol­ogy”, con­duct in­ter­ac­tive train­ing ses­sions, as well as re­search work.
