«If you do not have to be an artist, do not be him» was the favorite saying of Jose Carreras, who is not himself could not. And today the legendary Spanish tenor plans to perform in Tashkent accompanied by the famous National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek people could not even dream of such a New Year's surprise. However, miracles happen!

Of course, this is not his first visit to our country, but such a large-scale solo concert will be presented to the Tashkent audience for the first time.

Ascent of J. Carreras to the opera Olympus was swift. He conquered the best scenes of the world, became the owner of prestigious awards, the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO. In Spain, his name is the conservatory, several music schools and concert halls.

Early performances Carreras were on the stages of the most prestigious opera houses in the world, including the famous «La Scala» in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House of London.

Jose Carreras collaborated with the most famous conductors. Among them, Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Shailly, Colin Davis and others.

His repertoire includes more than sixty operas. The most famous of them are Bohemia, Tosca, Werther, Don Carlos, Carmen, La Forza del Destino and many others. His performance language is understandable to everyone, his charm and manner of performance are unique. But the Spanish performer became famous not only for this. One of its amazing features that amazed the whole world is that Carreras' repertoire also includes over 600 different styles from baroque to modern music! His discs became gold and platinum many times.

When Carreras is asked about his favorite party, he laughs. For him it's like choosing a beloved grandson. But still he singles out Rudolph in Bohemia, Richard in «The Masquerade» opera, Jose in «Carmen».

It is interesting that the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, accompanied by whom Carreras will perform, will be led by one of the most famous conductors in the world, no less renowned Spaniard maestro David Gimenez. He regularly collaborates with such singers as Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Kiri Te Kanava, Roberto Alagna, Angela Gheorghiu.
