Cooperation in Financial Sphere
On March 6, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Anton Siluanov, who arrived in our country on a working visit to conduct bilateral interagency consultations.
Warmly welcoming the guest, the head of our state stressed that regular meetings and contacts at the highest level, the practical implementation of the agreements reached on their results and the agreements adopted, contribute to the consistent strengthening of bilateral relations of strategic partnership and alliance, as well as the expansion of multifaceted cooperation, including in the financial sphere.
At present, the finance ministries of the two countries have established close cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation last April.
Bilateral activities are carried out at high and expert levels, an active exchange of experience and information is being carried out, joint programs and projects are being worked out.
During the meeting, prospects for further expansion cooperation in the financial sphere were considered.
Particular attention is paid to the issues of attracting advanced Russian experience, technology and knowledge in the issues of modernization of financial, tax and customs authorities, budget planning, balancing local budgets, implementing effective financial control mechanisms and other areas.
The possibilities of attracting financing for promotion of joint projects, as well as interaction in the sphere of training highly qualified specialists on the basis of leading specialized educational institutions of Russia were discussed.
The Minister of Finance of Russia expressed his deep gratitude to the head of our state for the warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Anton Siluanov confirmed the interest and willingness of the Russian side to develop and enhance the full-scale and mutually advantageous practical partnership between the two countries in the financial sphere.
