In accordance with the resolution of the head of our state “On Priority Measures to Ensure Accelerated Social and Economic Development of Regions”, signed 8 August 2017, special emphasis in every town and village of the country is placed on supporting socially vulnerable sections of the population.

This year, in the Khorezm region, the living conditions and sources of income of citizens who appealed to field receptions and to the People’s Reception offices with request to assist in the allocation of housing or in construction thereof, have been examined. It was planned to build free housing for low-income families and persons with disabilities. In these good deeds, many of our generous compatriots take a most active part.

In the Tandirchi mahalla of the Urgench district, a house for four apartments was built and commissioned within a short time period. Activists of the mahalla, while convening to make decisions, resolved to allocate these apartments to families with difficult living conditions.

“I’m blind, and belong to group 1 of the disabled,” says the owner of the new housing, Botir Kamolov. “My wife is also disabled. We have two kids. For many years we’ve lived in a rented apartment. A month ago, the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Khorezm region organized a public reception, where we asked to help with housing. Our appeal was satisfied.”
