He­li­copter Tours

Uzbek­istan Air­ways now of­fers a new op­por­tu­nity to tourist oper­a­tors, agen­cies and sim­ply fans of non- stan­dard travel and leisure – he­li­copter pic­nics.

The pro­vi­sion of the ser­vice will be han­dled by the air­line’s Spe­cial Avi­a­tion Works. There are two types of he­li­copters in the stock – Mi- 8MTV- 1 VIP- class with 16 seats and econ­omy class with 22 seats.

The com­pany has al­ready de­vel­oped plans for trips to the pic­turesque re­gions of the coun­try, cov­er­ing the most pop­u­lar tourist des­ti­na­tions, in­clud­ing Tashkent, Sa­markand, Bukhara, Boisun and Karakalpak­stan. The routes in­clude points that can­not be reached on foot or by land trans­port, the press ser­vice of Uzbek­istan Air­ways has re­ported.

In the Tashkent re­gion, tourists are of­fered one- day leaves to the Pskem, Maidan­tal, Ih­naach, and Ishii lakes, to the An­gren plateau with lakes and a hot spring, to the rocky ‘ bag’ of Kap­tarkumysh, to the Pu­latkhan plateau or the top of the Chim­gan.

From Sa­markand by he­li­copter you can go to the Zaraf­shan range, to the vil­lage of Gi­lan, Zar­mas, Te­mur cave, Teshik­tash. From Boisun – to the Surkhan Range and the hy­dro­gen sul­phide source Khoja Ipok.

Ex­cur­sions from Bukhara to Uchkuduk in­clude vis­its to hot springs and fly­ing over the desert. From Nukus, Muy­nak and Kun­grad, a route to the Aral area and the an­cient fortresses of the Khorezm re­gion is laid.

In sum­mer, he­li­copters can be­come one of the at­trac­tions of the re­cre­ation area “Chor­voq Orom­gohi” ( Char­vak Leisure Zone), and in win­ter time they are sup­posed to be used to lift skiers to the peaks of the moun­tains. They will be based at the heli­pad of a weather sta­tion in Chim­gan.
