The scheme is part of the “Safe City” concept and combines a set of solutions such as the creation of a converged command center, a unified LTE communication network, a data center, the installation of high-definition video cameras and the identification of faces, car colors and number plates, and the ability to conduct analysis of large volumes of data.

“Bukhara is an ancient and historical city, rich in sightseeing. There are more than 100 locations of such type in town. Travelers come from all over the world to tour this legendary city. For them, a sense of security and trust is important. Therefore, we decided to make a gift to the city and, within the framework of the project, give the tourist police of Bukhara the latest terminals, smart video cameras with facerecognition function and base stations operating in the LTE band,” said Huawei director general Wang Peng.

According to him, the implementation of this project will help law and order representatives to effectively manage the city and its resources, as well as reasonably monitor the public safety of tourists.

“If tourists know that Bukhara is the safest city in the region, their flow will increase several times, which will help the region and the country develop infrastructure and the economy as a whole. Bukhara has attracted tourists from all over the world for a long time, there is a special majesty in this region that attracts visitors and leaves the most positive memories, both about the city and the country,” the director general of the Chinese company suggested.

Huawei has extensive experience in integrating and realizing such projects. Successful initiatives have been implemented, in particular, in Kenya and Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and other countries.

Of particular importance was the project in Dunhuang City, Gansu province, in China. Every year more than 2 million tourists visit this city. The aim of the project was to ensure the safety of tourists, simplify the process of their movement, ensure the safety of historic sites, improve the services for tourists in purchasing tickets through mobile applications to save time.

Analytical platform of large data allowed to manage tourist resources in real time, and a ubiquitous wi-fi network was deployed covering all the sights, catering places, shopping centers. Intelligent cameras provided by Huawei, even with a 45-degree heat, can determine the state of each visitor, which allows for timely provision of first aid if necessary.
