Five Medals in Math
At the international mathematics Olympiad in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria, on July 1 - 6, Uzbekistan’s schoolchildren secured 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Fundamental reforms in the education system are in full swing in our country. The educational process is introduced advanced teaching methods, new pedagogical technologies. Widespread introduction of modern information and communication technologies in classes increases the interest of students in disciplines. As a result, the quality and effectiveness of education grows, thereby laying the foundation for victories at various international competitions.
The International School Mathematics Olympiad (International Mathematics Competition) is considered to be the largest and most important forum for talented students, participation in which is a pride for every country. Annually, more than 600 gifted schoolchildren from 30 countries take part in this intellectual competition.
The team of Uzbekistan, attending the creative competition for the fifth time, has won the largest number of medals for the first time in the history of the Olympiad.
Doniyor Ismoilov, student of the 8th grade of the 1st specialized school in Karakul district, Bukhara region, earned the gold medal. The pupil of the 7th grade of the same school, Lazizbek Rajabboyev, and that of the 9th grade of the school No. 18 in Peshku district, Bukhara region, Jahongir Norboyev, were awarded with silver medals. The student of the 7th grade of the specialized boarding school No. 4 Iskandar Buriyev and the representative of the 7th grade at the school No. 4 in Uchtepa district Muhammadrizo Majidov received bronze medals.
