Five Medals in Math

At the in­ter­na­tional math­e­mat­ics Olympiad in the city of Bur­gas, Bul­garia, on July 1 - 6, Uzbek­istan’s school­child­ren se­cured 1 gold, 2 sil­ver and 2 bronze medals.

Fun­da­men­tal re­forms in the ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem are in full swing in our coun­try. The ed­u­ca­tional process is in­tro­duced ad­vanced teach­ing meth­ods, new ped­a­gog­i­cal tech­nolo­gies. Wide­spread in­tro­duc­tion of mod­ern in­for­ma­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tion tech­nolo­gies in classes in­creases the in­ter­est of stu­dents in dis­ci­plines. As a re­sult, the qual­ity and ef­fec­tive­ness of ed­u­ca­tion grows, thereby lay­ing the foun­da­tion for vic­to­ries at var­i­ous in­ter­na­tional com­pe­ti­tions.

The In­ter­na­tional School Math­e­mat­ics Olympiad (In­ter­na­tional Math­e­mat­ics Com­pe­ti­tion) is con­sid­ered to be the largest and most im­por­tant fo­rum for tal­ented stu­dents, par­tic­i­pa­tion in which is a pride for every coun­try. An­nu­ally, more than 600 gifted school­child­ren from 30 coun­tries take part in this in­tel­lec­tual com­pe­ti­tion.

The team of Uzbek­istan, at­tend­ing the cre­ative com­pe­ti­tion for the fifth time, has won the largest num­ber of medals for the first time in the his­tory of the Olympiad.

Doniyor Is­moilov, stu­dent of the 8th grade of the 1st spe­cial­ized school in Karakul dis­trict, Bukhara re­gion, earned the gold medal. The pupil of the 7th grade of the same school, Laz­izbek Ra­jab­boyev, and that of the 9th grade of the school No. 18 in Peshku dis­trict, Bukhara re­gion, Ja­hon­gir Nor­boyev, were awarded with sil­ver medals. The stu­dent of the 7th grade of the spe­cial­ized board­ing school No. 4 Iskan­dar Buriyev and the rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the 7th grade at the school No. 4 in Uchtepa dis­trict Muham­madrizo Ma­ji­dov re­ceived bronze medals.
