A Visit of Friendship and Hope
Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Komil Allamjonov, has told journalists about the details of the forthcoming state visit by Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, first in the last 17 years, to our country.
The high-ranking guest will arrive in the morning of 17 August. Following a ceremony of laying flowers to the Monument of Independence and Humanism at the Mustaqillik Square in the heart of Tashkent, the heads of state will start talks in the Kuksaroy country residence. The negotiations are anticipated in contracted and extended formats, the spokesman informed.
The two sides, according to Allamjonov, are expected to discuss cooperation issues in the political, trade-economic, transport and communication areas; tourism, cultural-humanitarian interaction will also be in focus along with that between territorial entities of our two nations. The delegations intend to swap views on regional and international affairs of shared interest.
The talks are projected to produce a number of documents to be signed, raising the cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
In the afternoon, Uzexpocenter is to host an exhibition of Tajikmanufactured goods. Emomali Rahmon plans also to visit the Artel factory in Tashkent. The very same day, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will attend a concert show of art masters from the two countries.
On August 18, Tajikistan’s leader is to hold talks with Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis Nurdinjon Ismailov and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. Later the same day, Emomali Rahmon is anticipated in Samarkand.
The visit program may undergo changes, the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan noted.
