A normative basis for the implementation of the above tasks was provided by the program of comprehensive measures to support women and strengthen the institution of family, adopted in accordance with the President’s Decree envisaging measures to fundamentally improve the activities in support for women and bolster the institution of family, signed February 2, 2018, and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers outlining measures to boost the effectiveness of obstetric- gynecological and medical care services provided to girls and women of fertile age, inked 10 May 2018.
“The Republican ( National) Center for Girls’ Health started its activity at the Children’s Gynecology Department of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, and girls’ health centers operate at the children’s gynecology departments of children’s multidimensional medical centers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions, as well as the Tashkent city teenage dispensary,” Deputy Minister of Health Elmira Basitkhanova said. “In addition, in order to provide our girls with qualified gynecological outpatient care in all districts and towns, with the multidimensional central polyclinics, the girls’ health departments are organized. Our goal is to reach out to over 5 million girls under 18 years of age in the country. These centers and departments are designated a distinct role in the development of modern infrastructure for the provision of high- tech, specialized qualified medical care to girls and young women. In the future, given the need for these centers, it is envisaged to expand their scope of activities.”
The activities of these health centers are aimed at providing special medical assistance to girls, the formation of an educational, scientific and material and technical base building on high technologies in pediatric gynecology. In addition, it envisions the transfer of experience to specialized institutions of the country for the provision of specialized medical assistance based on high technologies for diagnostics, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation in this area.
