At the Sixth Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries held in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata, Uzbekistan voiced to its readiness to participate in the association’s activities in areas of practical interest to the nation.
The summit meeting was attended by the heads of member states of this organization: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary Victor Orban participated in the summit as guests of honor.
While speaking at the meeting, the head of our state noted that our peoples are connected by the similarity of languages, the community of spiritual values and the ties of cooperation, today there are no problems or disagreements on the political agenda of the council.
“Our countries in current international and regional issues have similar or akin views and approaches. At the same time, cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, innovation, transport and communications, tourism, science and education, which fully meets the vital interests of our peoples, is actively developing,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Thanks to the political will, open and constructive foreign policy of the President of our country in Central Asia, a climate of trust has been established, and friendly ties have been strengthened among the countries of the region.
As a result of meetings and dialogues at the highest level, cooperation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Azerbaijan covering various spheres has been further strengthened. Over the past year, the volume of trade between our country and its member states has grown by more than 40 percent.
The President of Uzbekistan noted the possibility of achieving even higher indicators and proposed important directions for the development of relations within the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries.
First of all, the need to enhance the trade, economic and investment cooperation, to boost interaction among leading industrial enterprises, banking and financial institutions and business structures was stressed. Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed holding the next meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking Countries in Tashkent to implement joint business projects.
Attention was paid to the creation of an integrated network of transport corridors, access to major global and regional markets. The need for innovative development of countries, expansion of cooperation of responsible agencies, research centers and venture companies was noted.
It was pointed out that there are huge opportunities for tourism development, strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties, which will promote further interaction of our peoples. Particular attention is also paid to ensuring peace and security, educating the enlightened young generation.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that Uzbekistan consistently develops cooperation with members of the Cooperation Council of TurkicSpeaking Countries, primarily with its neighbors, and it looks to the future of this international structure with great hope.
“We are interested in the further development of mutually advantageous cooperation within this council. At this stage, we are ready to participate in its activities in areas of practical interest to our country,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested.
The head of our state congratulated President Sooronbai Jeenbekov in connection with the transition of chairmanship in the Cooperation Council of the TurkicSpeaking Countries to the Kyrgyz Republic.
