Uzbekneftegaz, Mitsubishi Corp. Discuss Cooperation in Hydrocarbon Industry
The Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Bahrom Ashrafkhanov met 25 September with Kazuo Inada, Senior Vice President, Deputy Regional Managing Director of Mitsubishi Corporation.
The high quality and practicality of equipment manufactured by Mitsubishi are well known all over the world, including to the specialists of Uzbekneftegaz.
During the meeting Bahrom Ashrafkhanov noted that the compressor equipment by Mitsubishi Corp. has been successfully used for about 20 years at the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex. Taking into account the reliability and high performance characteristics of the machinery from this company, the sides discussed supplying compressor devices as part of a GTL project under implementation.
Uzbekneftegaz JSC acquainted the Japanese partners with the efforts undertaken jointly with Boston Consulting Group on the elaboration of the Concept for the Development of Oil and Gas Industry through to 2030, which envisages the realization of investment projects for deep processing of natural gas.
In turn, the Japanese partners expressed interest in participating in projects spearheaded by Uzbekneftegaz.
Kazuo Inada also familiarized the Uzbek specialists with the possibility of raising funds from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to finance investment projects.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the establishment of a joint working group to work out concrete proposals for cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
