Britain’s UKEF Willing to Take Part in Uzbekneftegaz Projects
At a meeting at Uzbekneftegaz JSC, the company’s management has held talks with the Chief Executive of the UK Export Finance (UKEF) Louis Taylor.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Uzbekistan Christopher Allan.
The Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, Uzbekneftegaz JSC and the UKEF had earlier signed a memorandum on funding investment projects in the oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan for a total of £ 1.25 billion.
The document was inked this April in London, in the framework of the first BritishUzbek Energy Forum.
The latest meeting was aimed at discussing concrete steps for the participation of the UKEF in financing investment projects implemented by Uzbekneftegaz.
Representatives of the British side were presented with broad information about the activities of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, investment projects being realized in the oil and gas industry, as well as reforms conducted in the sector and the country as a whole.
The parties also deliberated in detail on the main terms and conditions for granting funds from the UKEF.
In addition, officials of the UK Export Finance were offered a broader participation in the implementation of investment projects – not only by financing, but also in search for British suppliers of the needed cutting-edge equipment and services.
The sides noted a high degree of understanding of the community of the goals and objectives of the cooperation and agreed on the next steps to implement joint plans.
