At the meet­ing, the sides dis­cussed is­sues of strength­en­ing co­op­er­a­tion in the sports field, train­ing of coaches in win­ter sports, sports man­age­ment, psy­chol­ogy, and mu­tual ex­change of ex­pe­ri­ence to im­prove their skills. Agree­ments have been reached in a num­ber of ar­eas, in par­tic­u­lar, on the cre­ation of a fac­ulty in our coun­try, giv­ing a joint diploma of the Uzbek State Univer­sity of Phys­i­cal Cul­ture and Sport and a branch of the Les­gaft Na­tional State Univer­sity of Phys­i­cal Cul­ture, Sport and Health.

A co­op­er­a­tion agree­ment was signed be­tween the two uni­ver­si­ties.

“The at­ten­tion paid by Pres­i­dent Shavkat Mirziy­oyev to the de­vel­op­ment of phys­i­cal cul­ture and sports has been bear­ing the ex­pected fruit, and the Uzbek ath­letes achieve high re­sults on the world stage,” S. Bakulev said. “Our univer­sity also em­ploys highly qual­i­fied spe­cial­ists in train­ing ath­letes and coaches, weighty sci­en­tific re­search is con­ducted. We are ready to co­op­er­ate with you, to share ex­pe­ri­ence.”

The Rus­sian guest got ac­quainted with the ac­tiv­i­ties of the cap­i­tal’s sports fa­cil­i­ties and ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions, the con­di­tions cre­ated in our coun­try for sports.

Lo­cated in St. Peters­burg, the Les­gaft Na­tional State Univer­sity of Phys­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion, Sport and Health is con­sid­ered a lead­ing in­sti­tu­tion of higher ed­u­ca­tion in its di­rec­tion, not only in Rus­sia, but also through­out the world. Es­tab­lished in 1896, the univer­sity has trained more than 1,700 hon­ored mas­ters of sports and in­ter­na­tional cat­e­gory to this day. Over 300 univer­sity stu­dents be­came win­ners and medal­ists of the Euro­pean and world cham­pi­onships.
