Two such stops were built in the Surkhandarya region by a young entrepreneur Olim Safarov. There are air conditioners, a display with a public transport timetable, an information panel for emergency communication with the ambulance service, an environmental monitoring sensor, a free Wi-Fi network, video cameras, as well as telephone charging points, ATMs.

At the bus stop, information on the number of people is collected and analyzed, which contributes to the planning of traffic. There is also the possibility of obtaining operational information on cases of violations of public order. According to the suggestions and wishes of the population, the new stops are connected to the city telephone network.

Each of them has solar panels that provide lighting and electricity to USB ports for charging phones. Some have points of sale and service. There are plans to organize small libraries at stops.

An innovative project, implemented by an entrepreneur on the basis of a soft loan, not only creates modern conditions for users of public transport, but also contributes to the formation of a cleanliness culture among the population, especially young people.

“These are truly smart stops,” says Zuhra Togaykulova, nurse of the preschool educational institution No. 11 in the city of Termez. “They are decorated with great taste. There are three containers for collecting waste of different types; this approach contributes to the improvement of ecological culture. A shoeshine tool will help maintain cleanliness in public transport. There are also open and closed waiting rooms, which correspond to seasonal climate change, which also creates great amenities for citizens.”

Innovative stops, the side and rear modules of which are made of polycarbonate fiber, are equipped with laminated comfortable seats and climate control system.

“The stops are equipped with innovative windows,” says young entrepreneur O. Safarov. “At night, they perform the role of a large screen. It demonstrates social and commercial advertising. It can be viewed both inside and outside the stop. We received a soft loan for the project. We will pay it out of the income received.”

In the near future, the number of “smart” stops in the regional center will reach forty.
