Fête de la Musique first started in France in 1982 and thirty years later this event is held in over one hun­dred coun­tries, al­ways on June 21st. In Van­u­atu, the fes­ti­val has been go­ing since 1994. Pro­duced by Al­liance Française and sup­ported by lo­cal busi­nesses, this is a day of mu­sic where lo­cal bands have the op­por­tu­nity to share their mu­sic with their au­di­ence and col­lab­o­rate and net­work with one another. Events will be held in Efate, Tanna, Mota Lava, Malakula and Santo. In Port Vila, there will be sev­eral stages on the seafront and at Al­liance Française. This year, the event will show­case a hip hop con­test with the best artist se­lected to go to Noumea’s in­ter­na­tional Hip Hop com­pe­ti­tion. All con­certs are free; a great evening of lo­cal mu­sic to be en­joyed by all!
